Elevator Pitch # 2

*I need to start this post off by apologizing.  Due to some unfortunate circumstances I do not have access to recording tech today.  For this reason, I am only able to post a transcript of my elevator pitch.  I am hopeful that I will be able to update with a recording in the next day or so.

The Pitch

"There is a disparity in the level of service nonprofit firms are able to provide compared to their for profit, and government, cohorts.  We know for a fact that nonprofit organizations suffer from a lack of technological advancement because of how they spend their funding.  Due to the nature of their sector income is more often spent on their mission, therefore, neglecting their infrastructural needs. Our idea is to develop tech based wholesale purchasing power in order to pass wholesale discounts on to non profit firms.  Whole sale electronic distributors will often offer 'test shipments' of five to ten units at whole sale pricing.  Therefore, our firm would need approximately $500 to purchase ten laptops to distribute.  The next step would be to fill orders for units until the minimum number is reached and at that point execute the wholesale order.  This service could prove to be a competitive game changer for non profit firms."

Reflection About Differences Between Pitches

Unfortunately I did not participate in the original exercise so this is technically my first pitch.

What did I change

Again, did not due the original assignment

  1. Hey Brett, I like that your idea focuses on helping non-profit companies. It can be difficult for non-profits to acquire the financial assistance they need. Many spend their times writing grants to local government in hopes of getting a little more help. I support your efforts in helping those who are trying to help others. I would just say to maybe be a little more clear about your mission. Are you asking investors for the $500?

  2. Brett,
Wow you did a great pitch! I know you could record it but I could definitely tell how passionate you are about your idea. I think it is a great idea and seems very interesting. I loved that you included how much money you would need from investors and overall you were very specific on the plan you had. I think you did a great job!

Your idea enters into the realm of corporate social responsibility which attracts socially conscious consumers and investors to support your business. You seem passionate about helping non-profit organizations obtain the technology needed to properly communicate and conduct business. Great job Dillon.
